LDI dealt tough draw in Technology Table Tennis Tournament
32 teams from Estonia’s technology and start-up community went toe to toe this weekend during the 1st Table Tennis tournament organised by the US Embassy in conjuction with Guardtime and the Estonian Table Tennis Association.
LDI was represented by David, Lev & Kadri who were given a tough draw against the Embassy of Japan and Fortumo in the first round – especialy considering 1 member of the team had never played before! Despite winning one match the team came last in the group and to our dismay were drawn against the Embassy of Japan’s 2nd team in the 2nd round! They were again strong opponents however this time the competition was a lot closer with the majority of matches going to tie breakers; in the end though LDI fell at their hands too. The final match against Svipe was the closest yet, and despite initial wins, overall again LDI was defeated.
The event was a great chance to catch up with others in the local technology community and a lot of fun: the team are back training hard for next year’s competition…
